This was a hugely pivotal abstract ocean art painting for me. The original inspiration for the painting came to me while walking along the beach with my kids. It was a particularly smoggy day and the horizon looked very brown and polluted. I wanted to paint something that not only reflected that moment but something that could offer hope in the face of such common pollution. Stylistically and thematically this would be the beginning of a whole new trajectory in my work.
